25.11.09 I Five years after the start of Germany's truck toll system for heavy goods vehicles weighing 12 tonnes or more, system operator Toll Collect reports positive results. According to Toll Collect GmbH CEO Hanns-Karsten Kirchmann, "We have collected road toll for more than 140 billion kilometres since January 2005. The operational stability of the system has made it possible for the federal government to receive a steady flow of revenues for infrastructure improvements." [ more ]
